15 Feb Pheromones, Crack Stevens and Mason London new animated video
Animation duo Crack Stevens and Mason London launched the new video of Franc Moody’s Pheromones, a prequel to his first album, Super Star Struck. The original video played an unlikely hero, a super black mom who worked around London “performing socialist miracles”. The latter collaboration, instead, sees the character swimming around the underwater world of Atlantis, trying to cheer up a population of characters ‘submerged’ in their depression and apathy.
Stylistically, the first video of the duo continues, channeling this message of positivity and human connection through a “colored aesthetic and comics”, says Mason London (Joe Prytherch). “It was really fun to illustrate the underwater world, especially thinking about all the different types of motion you have down there, from the jellyfish that seem to be suspended in time for the dolphin’s rhythmic swimming.
